A research into materials and aesthetics.
Materials speak to those who know how to listen.
They speak to wood craftsmen, who from the grain of the log are able to carve the shapes and sinuosities of objects. They speak to stone masons and quarrymen, who make even the coldest of marbles soft and seductive. They speak to the potters, who shape the earth with their hands. They speak to the smelters, who transform liquid metal in a solid form, cooling and tempering what has its origin in fire.
The idea shapes the material in the craftsman's mind; often, however, the idea seems to be already present in the material, and the craftsman's task is more to listen to it and help it out.
Italian craftsmanship is where all this comes to light. Every form is shaped in perfect harmony with its function, with the idea that permeates it.
Passion-infused craftsmanship of what was previously a pure idea allows for true synergies of materials, where metal, ceramic, stone and wood dialogue with each other and with the craftsman. The result is a skillful juxtaposition, where the details are all studied to achieve a unity and where the passion for one's work finds its maximum fulfillment.
This approach for Valli is not just an aesthetic practice, but a natural expression of the Italian artisan soul, a soul that has distinguished it ever since Pasquale Valli in the 1930s decided to give shape to an idea by creating his company.
Leather
Soft and full-bodied, a symphony that blends visual and tactile experience, leather weaves into the patterns of the levers the essence of an art that defies time. The combination of leather and metal takes place in a perfect balance, as in the H 377 Steve Leung door lever that combines a dark bronze finish and a covering of intricately woven leather, creating a sophisticated textural effect, and as in the H 5015 Antonio Citterio, where stainless steel matches perfectly with a black or orange leather upholstery with different textures.
Porcelain
Porcelain modeling is inextricably linked to Italian craftsmanship. In this ancient craft, every curve and every linereflects the art that is handed down from generation to generation. Porcelain is smooth to the touch like metal, but warm and its translucency makes it a luminous, candid material. Combined with bronze as in the H 315 Pierluigi Cerri and H 176 Spiga door levers, the final effect is that of an elegant solid product but with an ethereal soul.
Valli's craftsmanship experience and skillful use of materials makes it possible to create customized levers for every need. With over 25 standard finishes and the ability to craft with noble materials such as marble and wood, it is possible every time to create a unique, unmistakable tailor-made design solution.
